David Edelberg focuses his practice primarily
in the fields of Bankruptcy Law, Creditor’s Rights and
Commercial Litigation. He is an equity partner in the law
firm of Nowell Amoroso Klein Bierman where he is Chair of the
Bankruptcy Department. He is admitted to practice law in
both New York and New Jersey and is an active member of the
Debtor Creditor Section of the New Jersey Bar Association; and
the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Edelberg Chairs the
Bankruptcy Law Committee of the Bergen County Bar Association.
Mr. Edelberg is also a member of the Board of Directors of the
Bergen County Bar Association.
Mr. Edelberg served as lead counsel in the Chapter 11
reorganizations of Country Inns Magazine and the Governor Morris
Hotel. In addition, Mr. Edelberg served as lead counsel
for the creditors' committee in NBO Menswear. Mr. Edelberg
also participated in the reorganizations of Emerson Radio
Corporation, Kiwi Airlines, Channel Home Centers, The Grand
Union Company and Union Valley Corporation. Moreover, Mr.
Edelberg participated as general counsel to the debtor in the
Chapter 11 Bankruptcy case for Passaic Beth Israel Hospital.
Mr. Edelberg has served as a guest speaker on Bankruptcy Law on
television and radio programs.
Mr. Edelberg has authored multiple articles regarding the
Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Edelberg has lectured on behalf of
the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the
Seton Hall Business School, Bergen Community College, the
National Business Institute and other academic institutions
concerning Bankruptcy Law. Mr. Edelberg received the
Volunteer Attorney Award from the Volunteer Lawyers For Justice;
and has served as a member of the District Ethics Committee.
In addition, Mr. Edelberg represents multiple businesses and
construction companies with respect to their construction
disputes, construction liens, commercial litigation and
strategic corporate transactions and planning.
Mr. Edelberg is a 1983 graduate of Brooklyn Law School and
received his B.S. in Environmental Science from Rutgers
University. Mr. Edelberg is a recipient of the American
Jurisprudence Award in Bankruptcy.
